SMS was founded by long time industry veterans that saw a gap in the industry and knew they could do better. Meet the founders below and learn a little more about the journey.

 
 


  • Co-Founder

    Tyson jumped into the solar industry back in 2017 after starting his career in the finance rhelm. Tyson is a graduate from University of Utah with a BS in finance and brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. Tyson has been on the operations side of solar since 2017 and continues to lead and grow the teams here at SMS Energy.

 
 


  • Co-Founder

    Qwentin began his solar career back in 2008, working his way from warehouse associate up to VP of Production for a large scale operation in California. After many years on the operations side of the business he made the jump to manufacturing and worked for several of the industries largest suppliers, rounding out his knowledge of the industry as a whole and getting the opportunity to meet Tyson. Tyson and Qwentin joined forces in 2021 to better the customer experience and SMS was born!
